Big Black Dead – Star Of MTV’s ‘Rob & Big’ Dies At 45

Another day, another celebrity gone far too young. This time it’s the man many knew as ‘Big Black’ who stared alongside professional skateboarder and mogul Rob Dyrdek on MTV’s hit show ‘Rob and Big’.

TMZ reports that Christoper ‘Big Black’ Boykin died on Tuesday morning, though as of yet there is no cause of death.

A Mississippi native, ‘Big Black’ originally appeared alongside Dyrdek in underground skate videos as his bodyguard when Rob, Chris and others in his group of friends/family were illegally skating on school yards, etc.

His fun-loving personality quickly grabbed the attention on MTV’s executives though and he alongside Rob were behind one of the most popular television shows on the network in the past twenty years. That success eventually lead to another show, ‘Fantasy Factory’, which chronicled Rob’s life adventures and eventually their relationship after a previous falling out.

Before becoming a TV star, Boykin served in the United States Navy.

Big Black is survived by his 9-year-old daughter, who was born while ‘Rob & Big’ were filming.
