Celebrity Deathmatch Is Returning To MTV

Celebrity Deathmatch

It’s been a while since you’ve seen an episode of ‘Celebrity Deathmatch’, but that’s soon to end because the animated clay show is set to return to MTV.

And no, we’re not talking re-runs of old shows here as the Viacom network has decided to re-launch the once popular series for a second installment.

‘Celebrity Deathmatch’ originally ran from 1998 to 2002 before it was cancled despite being one of the popular shows in MTV history. Now it will be making a triumphant return after the network formerly known for music videos gave it the green light.

Eight years after its six-season run came to an end, Celebrity Deathmatch creator Eric Fogel and Wasteland Entertainment are behind the new incarnation, with Chris McCarthy and Paul Ricci also on board as EPs. The new version will again featured animated no-holds barred fantasy fights between infamous figures from entertainment and pop culture and be reimagined for a social media world and hourly Twitter wars.

There’s no doubt they’re going to have early success, much like they did with the first installment as there are so many potential celebrity fights they could put together.

From Taylor Swift fighting Katy Perry to Justin Bieber fighting Orlando Bloom, they have plenty to pick from.

I've written on a lot of your favorite websites while I live in my mother's basement. If you only knew what a hard time I'm having holding these alligators down. Woo. | Twitter: @GuyHut | FB: @GuyHutSports
