On Monday night, Johnny Cueto became a fan favorite in Toronto as the Blue Jays knocked him out of the game early.
Fans quickly got on the former All-Star pitcher, chanting ‘we want Cueto’ after he was removed from the game.
The former Cincinnati Reds arm could be seen smiling in the dugout as he was continually trolled by the home crowd, though, it might not have been all smiles in the Toronto Blue Jays dugout as it appears Cueto attempted to knee one of their players.
After Kevin Pillar scored and slid into home plate, Johnny Cueto can be seen leaning in towards him. Moments after, Cueto’s knee made an odd movement towards Pillar’s head.
Was it intentional? Nobody seems to know at this point, though it was certainly a unique movement to say the least. If anything, you would have thought Cueto would have moved back as to not be hit in the play, let alone move closer to the action.
Why isn't anybody mentioning the knee jab by #Cueto Did I miss something about his intent? @Buster_ESPN @jaysonst pic.twitter.com/B3nFsjhqxx
