There’s A Hidden Message When You Play Eminem’s ‘My Name Is’ Backwards

Eminem

How many times have you listened to Eminem’s ‘My Name Is’ over the years? A couple hundred thousand or so? Yet, there’s probably a good chance you weren’t aware that the song had a hidden message when played backwards.

The good folks over at Lad Bible began to notice the oddity in Em’s debut track and posted it to the web.

Em’s main chorus on the song goes as follows:

‘Hi! My name is… (what?) My name is… (who?) My name is… {scratches} Slim Shady. Hi! My name is… (huh?) My name is… (what?) My name is… {scratches} Slim Shady.’

But when played in reverse?

‘It is Slim. It’s Eminem, it’s Eminem, it’s Eminem. It is Slim. It’s Eminem, it’s Eminem, it’s Eminem.’

Was this done by Dre, Em and the rest of the Aftermath crew on purpose? Or is it nothing more than a unique and rather odd but cool coincidence? I’m going to go with the former.
