So, is Carmelo Anthony an elite basketball player?
It’s a rather fair question, especially for fans of the New York Knicks – many of whom have grown somewhat tired of Melo over the years.
Apparently though, it’s not a question you want to ask Carmelo Anthony because the idea was brought up on an Instagram post of his over the weekend. And if you know Melo, you know he actually reads a lot of the social media comments and occasionally responds.
He did exactly that when it was asked if Carmelo Anthony was still an elite player.
“That’s the dumbest question ever asked”
Now, was it the dumbest question ever asked because Melo knows he’s no longer an elite player? I kid, I kid. Sort of.
In fairness to Carmelo Anthony, there are only a few ‘true’ elite players in the NBA – namely Kevin Durant and LeBron James. After that, there is a considerable drop off.
