You know who Magic Johnson reminds me of? That one guy who thinks he knows all about sports yet knows nothing. That’s not to say he wasn’t one of the greatest basketball players to ever grace the hardwood, but he’s just irritating when it comes to his hot sports takes. Case in point, the fact he says the Lakers plan to sign LeBron James.
Now, before you get too excited Laker Nation, Magic says it won’t happen and James will stay with the Cavs. But regardless, Johnson says it should still be LA’s ‘plan’…
Laker Nation: The Lakers should call LeBron James agent. We know he's going stay in CLE but they should go after him just in case he leaves.

Considering the Lakers already chased after James once, they’ll likely do it again assuming LeBron James opts out of his contract (as he is expected to do) – especially after the Kobe Bryant departure. Granted, just because he plans to opt-out doesn’t mean he’s ready to leave Cleveland for the second time around – doing so would simply allow him to get a better deal.
All that said, if James did decide to leave the Cavaliers once again, you’d have to assume the Lakers would be towards the top part of the list of his potential destinations given their solid youth, high draft pick and oodles of cap space to bring in additional All-Star talent.
Granted, a bit of a pipe dream, but you would have said the same thing about the Miami Heat a few years back.
