Remember a few months back when journeyman basketball player and ‘star’ of VH1’s ‘Basketball Wives’ Matt Barnes suggested he and singer Rihanna had a little thing going on?
The suggestion was quickly shot down by Rihanna herself, though Matt Barnes refuses to back down, suggesting something did indeed go down between the two.
Barnes, currently a member of the Memphis Grizzlies, was asked by TMZ about the alleged encounter(s) yet again and his response to RiRi’s denial was that he was ‘too grown to lie’.

The NBA star caught heat from RiRi herself back in August — when he told us he and Rihanna had gone “past the crush stage” together — with Rihanna claiming he made the whole thing up.
So who are we going to buy here? It’s not as if Matt Barnes is the most likable or beloved guy on an NBA court, so it wouldn’t shock us if he was trying to pull a quick one. Then again, Rihanna does seem to love her basketball players and Barnes has been linked to some rather high profile ladies in the past, so maybe he’s telling the truth.
