LeBron James’ Nike Shoe Deal Will Pay Him One Billion Dollars

LeBron James

In news that would make Darren Rovell cream his pants, it’s more or less been confirmed that Nike did indeed give LeBron James more than a billion dollars for his most recent ‘lifetime’ shoe deal which was signed back in December.

Kanye West brought the deal to light, per say, when he rapped about King James’ absurd shoe contract though nobody really knew just how much Nike paid the basketball star.

Plenty, according to Maverick Carter, who sat down with GQ and all but confirmed James’ billion dollar agreement. In fact, when asked, Carter suggested the deal was worth even more than the billion dollars that has been reporter.

Per Complex:

In a new interview with GQ, Carter’s asked if the deal is actually worth the billion dollars that Kanye West rapped about on “Facts.” Although Carter doesn’t verbally confirm the number, he responds to the question by smiling and pointing upwards, which is perhaps an indication that the deal is worth even more than anyone could’ve imagined.

“It’s a fantastic deal. Nike feels great about the deal. That’s the most important thing,” Carter said. “It’s the largest deal in the history of the company. Their hope is he makes even more. And our hope is that, too, obviously.”

Somewhere in Charlotte right now, the crying Jordan meme is real with MJ wishing he was born about twenty years later.
