Golden State Warriors Call Damian Lillard Dirty Player

During Golden State’s 128-112 win over Portland on Friday night, Andre Iguodala suffered a nasty ankle sprain which came courtesy of Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard.

To most, it looked like a broken basketball play which unfortunately ended in injury. But not to the Warriors, who have more or less called Damian Lillard a dirty player.

Iggy’s teammate and Warriors center Andrew Bogut took to Twitter where he subtweeted some shade at the direction of Lillard:

For what it’s worth, Bogut went on to clarify that he was more angry at the media/fans for not being consistent with who them deem to be a dirty player.

He used Cleveland Cavaliers utility man Matthew Dellavedova as an example, hinting that if a player with a dirty rep would have done the same thing people would be calling it a dirty play.

Perhaps he has a point, though Dubs head coach Steve Kerr says it’s difficult to fault a player going after a loose ball – however – he did say it was a ‘dangerous’ play on the part of Lillard.

Just image if it would have happened to Stephen Curry or Klay Thompson

Alas, it is what it is, though you have to wonder if there might be a little retaliation down the road.
