Much has been made regarding Colin Kaepernick‘s stand against the National Anthem, though, it’s hard to disagree with his most recent comments. That’s because the San Francisco 49ers quarterback – who currently leads the team in jersey sales – says he plans to donate all profits to charity.
Kaepernick took to Instagram where he made the announcement:
I want to thank everyone who has shown me love and support, it truly means a lot! I wasn’t expecting my jersey sales to jump to number one because of this, but it shows the people’s belief that we can achieve justice and equality for ALL! The only way I can repay you for the support is to return the favor by donating all the proceeds I receive from my jersey sales back into the communities! I believe in the people, and WE can be the change!
NFL players get a cut of their jersey and merchandise sales – how much likely determined in their contracts – so how much the 49ers signal caller will be donating is unknown. Still, it’s a solid gesture on the part of the former Nevada product.
