Cowboys, 49ers, Redskins To Make First 3-Way Trade In NFL History?

Trades in the NFL, especially those involving high profile names are pretty rare. But even more elusive are three-way trades. In fact, the NFL has never had a three-way trade.

But that might be changing soon.

Following in the footsteps of the NBA and NHL, three NFL teams – the Dallas Cowboys, San Francisco 49ers and Washington Redskins are all said to be engaged in a 3 team deal which could send some big name quarterbacks elsewhere.

According to the proposal, San Francisco would acquire Kirk Cousins from the Washington Redskins, who would acquire Tony Romo from the Dallas Cowboys.

In turn, the trade would be completed with draft picks going to Jerry Jones and company.

It’s a pretty big deal, no doubt, and the fact that it has already leaked probably means it won’t go down. That said, that would undoubtedly be one of the biggest trades in NFL history.

Also, despite the fact Dallas has Dak Prescott under center, the thought of Tony Romo playing for the Cowboys’ biggest rival has to be a little nauseating for both of the NFC East parties involved.
