Discovery has been regurgitating their popular ‘Shark Week’ now for over two decades. And as you can imagine, one can only re-run an episode about what sharks like to eat so many times.
So what’s a TV network to do when they need new content? Bring in an Olympic hero.
And that’s exactly what they did, because multiple gold medal winner Michael Phelps will be racing a great white shark in a special entitled Phelps vs. Shark: Great Gold vs. Great White.
Details on the race are still a little scarce, but Entertainment Weekly did drop this gem::
“They are one of the fastest and most efficient predators on the planet: Sharks,” the description, reads. “He is our greatest champion to ever get in the water: Michael Phelps. 39 world records. 23 Olympic golds. But he has one competition left to win. An event so monumental no one has ever attempted it before.
