Might DeMarcus Cousins be playing in purple and gold next year? That’s the rumor of the day, at least if you’re following the All-Star big man on social media.
Cousins, who missed most of the season with the New Orleans Pelicans after suffering a devastating Achilles injury, recently unfollowed his current team on Instagram and quickly followed current Lakers players like Isaiah Thomas on the social media website. He also followed fellow NBA All-Star Paul George, whom has long been linked to the Lakers and like Cousins, is a free agent.
As for the reasoning behind Cousins unfollowing the Pelicans? He stated it was because he was ‘grown’ and gave no further explanation.
Perhaps DeMarcus Cousins, who is known to be a bit dramatic (formerly tweeting out snake emoji’s at his coach while he was a member of the Sacramento Kings) got word that the NBA rumor mill suggested the Pelicans would not be offering him a max contract after his injury.
Either way, there’s no other free agency like NBA free agency.
