Twitter Will Not Reorder Your Timeline

On Friday night, Twitter users across the globe freaked out when rumors suggested a new Facebook-like format. In short, Twitter was going to reorder your timeline and instead of things being listed chronologically they would be ordered on a popularity type basis.

In short, the most recent posts wouldn’t be at the top of your Twitter timeline but rather mixed in below some of the more popular content.

Understandably, people freaked out but it was all for not as @Jack took to his Twitter page where he announced that no changes would be made.

Is this in reply to the fact most on Twitter were up in arms about the alleged change? Or was the information that hit the web not truthful? At this point it seems the only thing that matters is Twitter will not reorder your timeline, which is pretty much the only concern most had.

Granted, had they even went ahead and done something like this, you have to imagine Twitter would have allowed users to opt-out. There’s simply no way a Fortune 500 company like Twitter could have suffered a blowback by users who likely would have stopped using the service all-together without any type of way to not opt-in.

Regardless, your Twitter timeline is not changing.

I've written on a lot of your favorite websites while I live in my mother's basement. If you only knew what a hard time I'm having holding these alligators down. Woo. | Twitter: @GuyHut | FB: @GuyHutSports
