Do you know what today is? It’s another day that ends in ‘y’, which means there’s yet another story about a teacher being arrested for having sex with a student.
This time it involves a teacher in Wisconsin, who is charged with sleeping with her male student on multiple occasions.
According to the Daily Mail, 28-year-old Samantha Fitzpatrick, a teacher at Ripon High School, began having intercourse with the 17-year-old student outside of campus grounds. But eventually their relationship couldn’t be contained to outside of school and the two allegedly had sex on a desk in Fitzpatrick’s classroom.
After reviewing phone records, authorities found ’67 phone calls from the victim’s phone to Fitzpatrick’s phone,’ according to WBAY. Messages further included Fitzpatrick professing her ‘love for the victim’ and asking the student to send revealing photos. Fitzpatrick willingly resigned after the scandal went public, it had been revealed.
Fellow teachers at Ripon High School suspected the two had something going on, according to TMJ4:
Multiple teachers told Ripon Police they were suspicious of something going on between Fitzpatrick and a 17-year-old male student, according to a criminal complaint.
Both Fitzpatrick and the student denied any kind of relationship, police said.
In many states, 17 is above the age of consent, though not in Wisconsin where it remains 18 years of age.
