Not going to lie – if somebody had told me a popular musician decided to grind on stage, I probably would have assumed it to be Rihanna, Beyonce or Nicki Minaj. But a Mariah Carey lap dance? Yeah, that’s never going to happen. Except that it did.
And frankly, it was pretty good.
Carey was in South Africa on her ‘Fantasy 2’ tour when she brought Bryan Tanaka – one of her former backup dances – onto the stage. Of course, as you can see in the video, that wasn’t the easiest of tasks considering Tanaka was injured.
But in hopes of raising his spirit (among other things), he (and we) were treated to a Mariah Carey lap dance.
Yeah, there were definitely some awkward moments there. But, it’s Mariah Carey. Grinding. When’s the last time you saw that?
