The Cleveland Indians don’t have a ton of available funds at their disposal, but that doesn’t mean they’re not interested in adding an additional right-handed power bat before spring training.
Given that, Jon Heyman says the Indians are looking for a cheap addition and could have interest in players like Andruw Jones and Ryan Ludwick.
indians looking for cost-effective righty bat. ludwick, reed johnson, andruw (who’s serious about comeback) among options.

Neither is likely to have Cleveland Indians fans doing a jig, especially Jones who has been out of Major League Baseball for a few seasons now (though has played well in Japan). As for Ludwick, the outfielder is well traveled and a few years removed from putting up quality numbers though did hammer 26 home runs just two years ago.
Perhaps there’s a chance to catch lightning in a bottle for the Cleveland Indians regarding Ludwick or even Jones, though more likely than not they’ll simply be bench additions who won’t see much playing time outside of injuries.
The Indians best option may be to look into their minor league system and give a young player a chance considering the struggles (and age) of both Ludwick and Jones.
