Read Kendrick Lamar’s Letter To Tupac

Kendrick Lamar

On Sunday, September 13th, it was the nine year ‘anniversary’ of Tupac’s death.

Few have impacted the music industry like 2Pac, completely ignoring the way he changed hip hop music.

Many continue to pay tribute to Pac, including Compton born rapper Kendrick Lamar who penned an open letter to the ‘California Love’ rapper.

“I was 8 years old when I first saw you,” Kendrick wrote. “I couldn’t describe how I felt at that moment. So many different emotions. Full of excitement. Full of joy and eagerness. Twenty years later, I understand exactly what that feeling was. INSPIRED. The people that you touched on that small intersection changed lives forever. I told myself I wanted to be a voice for man one day. Whoever knew I was speaking out loud for you to listen.”

Kendrick Lamar’s letter to Tupac was posted on Pac’s official site and served as the homepage when you arrived on the website.

I've written on a lot of your favorite websites while I live in my mother's basement. If you only knew what a hard time I'm having holding these alligators down. Woo. | Twitter: @GuyHut | FB: @GuyHutSports
