While there were a multitude of headline acts performing at the 2016 GRAMMY Awards, few were more popular than that of Rihanna. But she didn’t perform, despite being scheduled to do so. Why is that, you ask? Doctors say she was in danger of damaging her vocal cords. But was there a Rihanna meltdown?
So says TMZ, who reports the singer had an absurdly large diva moment during rehearsal and stormed off stage, never to return.
Perhaps the biggest indication that this might be true is that Rihanna was captured on video just two days before the scheduled GRAMMY performance, singing just fine at a Lionel Richie tribute.
Rihanna was screaming and hysterical before she bailed on the Grammys, but there are conflicting stories about what triggered her outburst.
Sources connected with the show and several sources who were not connected but present at the show tell TMZ … the singer was loudly expressing displeasure over her rehearsal. They say she was loud and upset and, as we first reported, bailed on the event.
Rihanna’s people say she had a medical issue … bronchitis that was so bad she could not perform and that’s why she left. Sources close to RiRi tell us she was too upset to stay and watch the show.
Not sure what would go so badly during rehearsal to force a Rihanna meltdown, but it sounds like that might be the case.
