Not only are the Atlanta Hawks one of the best teams in the NBA, they also have one of the best in-game routines across the league. From their overly sarcastic and witty Twitter account to their mascot, Harry the Hawk, the franchise provides one of the best all around experiences in professional sports.
If you need any further proof of such, just check out Harry going absolutely bonkers as he lip-synched a performance of Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk”.
The duet between Mars and Mark Ronson had Harry the Hawk dusting off his dancing shoes and good lord, he didn’t disappoint.
Dude even threw a splits in there, looking like a modern-day Michael Jackson. Well, a Michael Jackson with a big foam head on, which probably isn’t that far from the truth. But I digress.
Gone are the days when NBA mascots would soar above the rim for eye popping dunks. Now it’s all about dancing, and frankly, I’m not that mad. Sure, there are a few acrobats like Rocky of the Denver Nuggets who still put on dunk shows but there’s nothing wrong with getting your boogie on to “Uptown Funk” either.
Keep doing your thang, Harry the Hawk. Maybe he can get Al Horford and Kyle Korver to join him next time.
