There’s no doubt that J.R. Smith is a bit of unique and polarizing individual. The Cleveland Cavaliers guard, who was recently acquired by the New York Knicks can at times be a bright spot on an NBA court, though more often than not is nothing but a headache. All that said, he does bring an extremely high entertainment value – especially for opposing fans as he did on Friday night against the Los Angeles Clippers.
With J.R. Smith’s Cavs nursing a six-point lead late in the fourth quarter, the veteran swingman made his way to the bench during a timeout. He eventually made his way into the huddle, but before arriving at his destination he decided to stop and steal a handful of food from an unsuspecting fan.

It’s difficult to tell what J.R. Smith actually grabbed from the fan – likely some french fries or popcorn, but watching the entire process unfold was teammate LeBron James who appeared mildly disgusted at what was unfolding.
The fan meanwhile, who lost out on a bite to eat, seemed to thoroughly enjoy Smith’s antics as he quickly realized what had just taken place, looked up at the guard and smiled.
