Man, the Los Angeles Lakers just can’t catch a break.
Just hours after Kobe Bryant blasted the media for blaming him for the Lakers recruiting failures in free agency, now it’s fellow NBA teams who are drinking the haterade.
While we don’t know who exactly made the complaints or how many NBA teams did so, according to Dave McMenamin, there was at least one basketball franchise who complained to Adam Silver and the NBA league offices about the Lakers recruiting techniques.
That includes their hashtag which was #LAtoLA as they attempted to sign LaMarcus Aldridge.
Per league source, Lakers’ #LAtoLA tweets weren’t deleted out of sheepishness, but rather by NBA request after other teams complained

Lakers, per same league source, cleared the #LAtoLA tweet plan with NBA legal dept beforehand. But still honored request to delete them.

Really? That’s not a bit petty or anything.
I’m not really sure what’s wrong with using social media to recruit a player, let alone something as simple as a hashtag. Perhaps there is more to it than meets the eye, but that seems like a bit of an over the top reach on whomever complained.
