Could Orlando Magic Trade For DeMarcus Cousins?

DeMarcus Cousins

After tough losses against the Portland Trail Blazers and Golden State Warriors, the Sacramento Kings were supposed to calm the waters with a win over the hapless Philadelphia 76ers.

Only problem? They lost. But it wasn’t just that they lost, they were out-worked and out-hustled by one of the worst teams in NBA history.

Needless to say, the fuse in Sacramento is lit and players on the roster might be relocating zip codes in the near future.

That includes both Rajon Rondo and Rudy Gay, though more importantly DeMarcus Cousins, who is likely to command a hefty haul if the Kings do decide to trade the All-Star big man.

Sacramento GM Vlade Divac has routinely suggested Cousins is not available, but with no first-round draft picks for the foreseeable future and a floundering roster, might his opinion change?

If it does, ESPN basketball insider Chad Ford believes the Orlando Magic are the perfect team to make a deal.

Orlando wouldn’t be the only team to show interest in the former Kentucky star, but they are one of the few who likely has enough young pieces to tempt the Kings in a potential rebuild.

That’s not to say the Magic would entertain the idea of a DeMarcus Cousins trade, but the two teams do line up well as a potential partner thanks to youth like Aaron Gordon, Elfrid Payton and more.
