I would assume, that if you’re a teacher and you sleep with one of your students, you’d keep that news close to your vest.
But apparently, I’d be wrong. Because Caroline Lawson, a 29-year-old English teacher who for some reason goes by ‘Deb’, was arrested after she texted a friend that she just had sex with her 17-year-old student.
The Earl J. Lennard High School teacher in Tampa, Florida, was arrested by authorities after her seventeen year old mid-day delight confirmed that he had recently visited her apartment for a round of intercourse and oral sex.
Lawson’s fate was sealed after police found the admission in a text message exchange with her friend:
“I cheated on jameson [Lawson’s fiancee]… with a student”.
“When you say cheated, do you mean slept with?”
“Yes.”
Despite sex with a minor, Florida law will likely only charge Caroline Lawson with a misdemeanor considering the student was over the age of 16. Though, she understandably has lost her job as a teacher.
