Roger Goodell Salary: Made More Money Than Any NFL Player In History

Earlier today, it was announced that Peyton Manning made upwards of $248 million dollars on the football field. It’s the most money ever made by a football player. Yet, oddly enough, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is just about to exceed it. Yep, we’re talking about the infamous Roger Goodell salary.

While those earnings don’t take take into account any Manning endorsements, by the end of the year Roger Goodell will have amassed upwards of $250 million dollars.

So, in short, a guy who has only been commissioner for a handful of years is set to make more money than a guy who played 18-years in the NFL as the star of star players.

Now, I’m not saying Roger Goodell has an easy job and that he shouldn’t be compensated handsomely, but it’s a little weird when the guy starts making more money than any NFL player in history, especially when the league pretends they don’t have any money for concussion lawsuits and settlements.

In fairness, it probably won’t be all that long until Goodell’s lifetime salary is surpassed by another top NFL player, but still….
