There are two things I know about Brian Windhorst. He writes about basketball and was pretty much hired by ESPN to be the pimple on LeBron James‘ backside. That’s not really a slight to Brian, but let’s call a spade a spade. From Cleveland to Miami and back to Cleveland, Windhorst is the guy you go to when it comes to coverage on King James.
So it only makes sense his biggest PR fan pretty much just obliterated him, right?
I’m not sure what the Cleveland Cavaliers star did to Windhorst, ESPN or others involved but this is on some Wojo stuff in terms of slamming the NBA’s biggest star.
Here are a few pieces from the article:
He’s moody.
He’s an only child.Sometimes when you’re talking to him, there will be a light in his eyes and he will be engaging and deeply involved in the conversation. Sometimes his focus will wander and he’ll fall into rote answers, all his cues telling you to go away.
Also useful for the handbook would be how much James likes attention. So much of it comes his way naturally, but there are times when even that’s not enough: when he will walk up on teammates being interviewed so he can edge into the picture; when he will loudly sing bars of rap songs in otherwise quiet rooms just to let everyone know he’s there; when he will pop up in front of tens of millions on social media with a message that will create an instant and wide-ranging buzz. It’s all part of the James package.
That’s just a small sample of what can be found in the rather honest and truthful piece, which I’m sure LeBron isn’t going to be thrilled with.
And frankly, this isn’t a big deal if it came from anybody but Windhorst. But because it did….
