Cleveland Browns’ Johnny Manziel Enters Rehab

Johnny Manziel

Just when you thought the Cleveland Browns’ troubles couldn’t get any worse, they do.

Days after star wide receiver Josh Gordon was nabbed for failing an NFL ‘drug’ test for alleged drinking (against his probation), quarterback Johnny Manziel has checked himself into a rehab center, this according to TMZ.

A rep for the Cleveland Browns issued a statement saying, “Brad Beckworth, friend and advisor to Manziel and his family, has confirmed that Johnny entered treatment on Wednesday.”

“Johnny knows there are areas in which he needs to improve in order to be a better family member, friend and teammate and he thought the off-season was the right time to take this step.”

“On behalf of Johnny and his family, we’re asking for..privacy until he rejoins the team in Cleveland.”

While many knew that Johnny Manziel enjoyed partying, few probably believed his issue were this bad. That said, it’s a good sign that Manziel was either pushed into entering rehab or felt the need to do so himself as it’s clear the Cleveland Browns quarterback needs some help.

The Browns (nor Manziel’s camp) are specifically stating what the signal caller is being treated for, though it’s likely alcohol abuse as the quarterback is routinely seen out on the town drinking far too much.
