Knicks Rumors: New York Interested In Lance Stephenson?

Lance Stephenson

The Charlotte Hornets haven’t exactly made their disappointments with Lance Stephenson quiet and after signing the swingman to a rather hefty contract this past offseason, they’re already looking to trade the veteran.

Might the New York Knicks have interest in a Lance Stephenson trade?

It’s a possibility, according to Sporting News, who lists the Knicks along with Stephenson’s former team, the Indiana Pacers as potential suitors.

Talks with the Nets, obviously, crumbled, but there’s a chance something could be rekindled there. The Pacers and Knicks are also possibilities.

Lance Stephenson’s hard-nosed style of play would be welcomed in the basketball mecca, but you don’t know what personality you’re getting from the swingman.

A modern day Ron Artest (to a lesser extent), when motivated, Lance Stephenson can be a difference maker though has also shown a tendency to be a thorn in the side of his own team. Add in his contract and it’s a pretty risky move for the Knicks, especially considering all of the available cap space they’ll have at season end.

If they could move Jose Calderon in exchange for Stephenson, then perhaps, but outside of that there doesn’t appear to be a Lance Stephenson trade that would make sense for the New York Knicks.
