NBA Trade Rumors: Lance Stephenson Wants To Play For Nets?

Lance Stephenson

Lance Stephenson of the Charlotte Hornets says he’d like to play for the Brooklyn Nets.

Just a few weeks ago the Charlotte Hornets were under the impression they traded swingman Lance Stephenson to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Brook Lopez and were apparently ready to inform the NBA that such a deal was completed.

But before that could happen, the Nets allegedly backed out of the trade and Stephenson remained a member of the Hornets.

That could change in the next few days before the NBA trade deadline, especially if the temperamental guard/forward has his way as Lance Stephenson says it would be a ‘blessing’ to play for the Brooklyn Nets.

“It would be a blessing (to play in Brooklyn),” Stephenson said. “But right now, Charlotte, that’s what I’m doing right now.”

While it probably wasn’t the most politically correct thing to say on the part of Stephenson, the Charlotte Hornets talent did grow up on Coney Island and has youthful ties to the New York and Brooklyn areas. Given that, it’s an understandable stance as to why Lance Stephenson would like playing for the Brooklyn Nets.

Of course, being he’s under contract with the Hornets he’s likely to catch some flack for suggesting such.

Currently, there is said to be little market for the 24-year-old who has struggled with Charlotte this season.
