New York Mets Expect To Trade Pitcher In Next Week

If you’re a pitcher on the New York Mets staff, don’t get too comfortable as you might be changing zip codes in the coming days.

That’s the word from Joel Sherman of the New York Post who says the Mets are expecting to move an arm in the next week.

The most likely candidate to be traded is starter Dillon Gee, who is reportedly coveted by the San Francisco Giants. In addition, the San Diego Padres and Colorado Rockies have also been linked to Gee.

Currently 28, Gee had a sub par season for the New York Mets in 2014 though posted a solid 3.62 ERA in 2013 while throwing 199 innings, so he would certainly have some value to all of the teams interested in acquiring him. He’d also get to pitch half of his games in two of the most cavernous ballpark’s in Major League Baseball if he was traded to the Giants or Padres, only increasing his value.

That said, will Gee is the most likely arm to be moved according to Sherman, it’s not written in stone and another player could be the odd man out.

Regardless, it appears as if the hot stove is boiling for the Mets.
