Matt Cain’s Caddy Falls Off Cliff At Pebble Beach Golf Tourny (Photo)

Every year the annual Pebble Beach Pro Am brings out the stars as many athletes from both the NFL and MLB participate alongside PGA golfers.

In addition, both the San Francisco 49ers and San Francisco Giants have a heavy presence at the golf tournament given their proximity to the event and on Sunday, things got very real for Giants starting pitcher Matt Cain.

Why? Because Matt Cain’s caddy fell off a cliff during the Pebble Beach Pro Am. We’re not talking a little five foot drop here, either. We’re talking a pretty nasty fall which resulted in play being suspended until Matt Cain’s caddy could be rescued.

Considering the tournament did resume, obviously the injuries suffered by Matt Cain’s caddy were not too serious though an update on his condition isn’t yet known.

Judging by the photo though, there was some obvious and understandable concern as that looked to be a pretty gnarly fall, especially considering it’s likely the golf caddy fell on a collection of jagged rocks.

I’m not sure how you get that close to the edge of the cliff anyway, but hopefully the golf caddy is back home and resting after his fall.
