It’s been three days since the wedding of Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, giving me plenty of time to find royal Instagram and Twitter memes you might have missed.

This piece of journalism features 10 of them.

I enjoyed coming up with a list of 10 on my own, but I have a problem with it. I want mine to be unique and it’s not.

Everybody else is doing their own lists based on what they see on the meme machines, the clever content creators, and this is becoming a lazy and nearly cliched form of 21st-century communication.

It doesn’t matter to the digital gods and goddesses sending live copy to the web and optimizing the engines to super speed. Readers will hit the links for Markle Sparkle and the numbers will climb the charts on newsroom TV monitors.

Big-time media have got game and they’re beating the bloggers.

Time magazine: “Only Meghan could give us the biggest meme of the 2018 royal wedding”

Harper’s Bazaar: “The Best Memes from the Royal Wedding”

Cosmopolitan: “Megan Markle’s Royal Wedding Meme Goes Viral”

Elle: “The 26 Best Best Tweets and Memes From the Royal Wedding”

US Weekly: “Excited Pageboy, Pippa Middleton’s Iced Tea Dress Comparison and More Royal Wedding Memes”

Google has pages and pages of this stuff, and I know my post can’t compete with all the others.

This might be the last time I do this kind of post.

I love the meme machines, but I hate the meme aggregators.
