While there are two sides to every story, inflicting an injury on anybody, let alone a woman isn’t acceptable. But that’s exactly what happened (allegedly) to a woman in Glendale, Arizona recently after her boyfriend, top Cincinnati Reds prospect Tanner Rahier was arrested for throwing a rock and hitting his girlfriend in the head.

Rahier, 21, allegedly threw a rock at a woman in the parking lot outside Pullano’s Pizza following an argument. According to KPHO.com, the woman had been dating Rahier for about a month and was with him at the restaurant, which is about 25 miles northeast of the Reds’ Spring Training complex in Goodyear, Arizona.

Tanner Rahier, a shortstop by trade, was a second-round pick of the Cincinnati Reds in 2012 though has struggled with the stick since coming out of high school. Last season Rahier hit a paltry .238 in 117 Single-A games while hitting .222 the season prior.

As for the arrest, Tanner Rahier, who was said to be under the influence by authorities, says he did not throw the rock nor did he know the woman who claims he did so.

The young lady was taken to the hospital and outside of some stitches, is expected to make a full recovery.
