Massive Alligator Delays PGA Tour Golf Event (Photo)

Golf Alligator

It’s been one hell of a week for alligators. Not only did one of the largest gator’s we’ve ever seen make an appearance on a golf course, now we have another alligator doing the same thing though this time it was during a PGA Tour event in Florida.

Pro golf stars Charley Hoffman, John Senden and Woody Austin were playing the third hole at the Valspar Championship when all of a sudden a behemoth 12-foot alligator decided to stroll across the fairway.

Obviously the golfers couldn’t take their swings and nobody wanted to be anywhere near the vicinity of the gator, so play was halted until the living fossil made his way out of play.

Hilariously enough, Charley Hoffman says this isn’t his first encounter with the said 12-foot alligator who has made his presence known before.

“That same alligator, six years ago. A guy in my pro-am group said he used to mess with alligators when he was younger. I went ‘you don’t mess with alligators.’ He said, ‘Yeah, we used to grab their tails.’ I go, ‘I’ll give you a 100 bucks to go over there and grab that alligator’s tail. Not touch it. Pick that alligator’s tail up.’ He walked over there and picked that alligator’s tail up. That exact alligator. It was slightly smaller then, but it was huge then. I gave the guy a 100 bucks.”

Really? A $100 bucks? I wouldn’t stand within 50-feet of the thing for $100 bucks.

I've written on a lot of your favorite websites while I live in my mother's basement. If you only knew what a hard time I'm having holding these alligators down. Woo. | Twitter: @GuyHut | FB: @GuyHutSports
