Packers’ Eddie Lacy Called Fat By Seahawks Player

We’re just days away from the NFC Championship game between the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks and the mud is already being flung. So who got called out? Was it Richard Sherman taunting Aaron Rodgers? Maybe Jordy Nelson calling out Kam Chancellor? Actually, it was none of the above but rather Michael Bennett of the Seahawks calling out Eddie Lacy.

Asked by a reporter what he thought made Lacy different, the Seahawks defensive lineman responded with the following:

Way to kill two birds with one stone – not only insult the reporter asking the questions but also take a pot shot at your upcoming opponent. Oddly enough, in a round-about way it was almost as if Bennett was giving Eddie Lacy a form of a backhanded compliment, suggesting his size makes him difficult to bring down.

Whatever the case may be, it’s not your typical bulletin board material but the two teams have been relatively quiet leading up to the game, perhaps as a sign of respect for each side. Given that, Bennett’s suggestion that Eddie Lacy might need to lose a bit of weight appears to be the biggest trash talk thus far which isn’t saying much, especially given Bennett isn’t exactly svelte himself.
