LeBron James Decides Not To Play Defense For Cavs (Video)

LeBron James

When LeBron James decided to leave the Miami Heat in free agency and return to the Cleveland Cavaliers, he probably thought life was going to be sweet. It certainly started out that way with a homecoming fit for a King but in the time since, the Cavs have struggled with James nursing a lingering injury.

There have been well documented issues with head coach David Blatt (the most recent of which can be seen here) and now LeBron James has apparently stopped giving his full effort on defense.

Playing in what would become a rather tight game against the struggling Los Angeles Lakers, James was on the baseline between the three-point line and the paint. That’s when a pass came his way and presented a chance for LeBron James to play defense. Instead, he opted to give the Lakers player a wide open shot and began jogging the other way before the shot ever came down.

What the hell was that? It was one thing to not defend the player (bad as that was) but to completely give up on the play and run the other way when he could have snatched a rebound?

Between his irritation/frustration during timeouts and this, you have to wonder where James’ head is at currently.
