Just when you thought Deflategate couldn’t get any more odd, this happens.
Earlier today the Deflategate report was made public and accused the New England Patriots of cheating. Owner Bob Kraft and head coach Bill Belichick were more or less suggested to be innocent bystandards in the process with most of the blame being put on iconic quarterback Tom Brady.
The golden boy? The best football player in the NFL? It can’t be, right?
At least not according to Tom Brady’s father who now says the NFL is framing his son.
“The league had to cover themselves,” said Brady Sr. “The reality is they had no conclusive evidence.
“This was Framegate right from the beginning.”
“To impugn somebody without conclusive evidence saying this is more probable than not? The reality is they have scientific evidence. Now they’re overriding the scientific evidence and badgering the Patriots. It’s disgusting.”
Ouch.
Granted, NFL commishoner Roger Goodell does have a tight relationship with Bob Kraft, but the last person you’d expect them to ‘frame’ would be the face of football and that’s exactly what Tom Brady is.
Perhaps he simply tried to get an advantage – like many football players – and got caught? It happens, pops.
