There’s some trouble in the water for the Miami Heat as star guard Dwyane Wade is a little irritated at the only basketball franchise he’s ever known.
More likely than not, Wade will stay in South Beach and the mild dust up the two sides have had will quickly die down. But if it doesn’t, might Kobe Bryant have a new teammate? That’s the word from Bleacher Report who says Dwayne Wade has some interest in signing with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Granted, it’s unlikely such will ever manifest, but it doesn’t appear as if the rumor was plucked out of thin air either.
If Dragic signs to #’s expected, Wade wd be 3rd-highest paid on team in 15-16. If Whiteside develops, cd be 4th/5th in 16-17….
This is a rare situation where neither side really has the leverage. Management & the player r both incredibly popular…..
Finally, if Wade went anywhere, at any point, I’ve typically heard L.A. as an option. But I still expect Heat to sort this out.
It seems very unlikely that Dwyane Wade would ever leave the Miami Heat, though outside of the Chicago Bulls (his hometown team), the Los Angeles Lakers do make the most sense for him from a financial standpoint.
Would the Lakers have any interest though?
