NBA Finals: Cavs Put Kyrie Irving On Active Roster Despite Knee Injury

Kyrie Irving

If the Cleveland Cavaliers end up winning the 2015 NBA Finals, it seems as if Kyrie Irving will be able to say he was on the active roster.

Odd as that might sound after Irving went down with a broken kneecap which will keep him out of action for the next 3-4 months at minimum, the Cavs placed Kyrie Irving on the active roster for Game 2 of the NBA Finals – just a few nights after going down with the season ending injury.

Why? Because the Cavs don’t have enough healthy players. Yes, it’s that bad for LeBron James and company.

It wasn’t just Irving either as the Cavs also placed Kevin Love on the active roster, despite the fact both are out for the NBA Finals.

So Kyrie Irving, a day after having surgery on his knee, was on the active list along with Kevin Love and Anderson Varejao, who were in suits on the bench.

So what does this mean? Well, really nothing, but speaks to what LeBron James has been able to accomplish with a team full of cast-off talent and riddled with injuries to their star players outside of King James.

Expect to see Kyrie Irving active for the remainder of the NBA Finals, despite the fact he is watching Game 3 from a hospital bed.
