Welp, it appears the Cinderella ride for Cleveland Cavaliers…uh…’star’ Matthew Dellavedova is over. Well, at least for a day, according to ESPN’s resident troller, Stephen A. Smith.
The basketball ‘analyst’ was part of the Worldwide Leader’s postgame collection after Game 4 of the NBA Finals and promptly lit in to just about every player on the Cavs roster.
That included Matthew Dellavedova who Stephen A Smith ripped on live TV.
Look, I get that Stephen A Smith is playing his role here and he does it quite well. If he’s not being over the top and dramatic, he’s not doing his job. But this just makes him come off rather silly.
As fantastic as Matthew Dellavedova has been for the Cavs, he’s not part of the MonSTAR’s or something – he’s going to have a bad game occasionally. And frankly, you’re only going to hold Steph Curry down for so long.
Again, we get what Stephen A Smith was doing here and frankly, it worked, because people are talking about it. His frustration, if you want to call it that, is completely misguided but I have a feeling he doesn’t really care, either way.
Hopefully Matthew Dellavedova escapes his wrath come Game 5, because if it’s another dud for the young Cavs talent, Stephen A Smith is coming for him.
