You can be blasted in the media, ripped apart on local sports radio. But when your jersey hits the clearance racks, that might be the biggest blow to any athlete’s ego. For Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III, today is that day.
Via ESPN’s Darren Rovell, RGIII‘s jerseys have been spotted at a Richmond, Virginia sports store hanging out all by themselves on the clearance rack.
That might not be that bad though, right? I mean, if they’re just 25 percent off or something, perhaps the store is just trying to clear out an excessive amount of inventory. Oh – they’re 75 percent off? Wait – and an extra 75 percent off the already marked down price? Well, okay, nevermind – you’re screwed RGIII.

In fairness to Robert Griffin III, it’s not like his jersey is a hot seller recently and it’s safe to assume there were simply too many of his jerseys ordered so you can see why the sports store is trying to rid themselves of the extra threads.
Still, that has to be a tough blow for the Washington Redskins quarterback and the icing on a burnt cake which he ate throughout the season (part of it on the bench).
