Washington Nationals Willing To Trade Stephen Strasburg

It seems difficult to imagine the Washington Nationals giving up on pitcher Stephen Strasburg, especially after how careful they were with the former San Diego State phenom. But it appears they might be willing to trade the young arm if the price is right.

This under the assumption they end up signing Max Scherzer, who reportedly could have a seven-year offer on the table from the Nationals.

That’s the word from Jon Morosi who notes Stephen Strasburg could be out the door if the team doesn’t get a solid offer for Jordan Zimmermann.

There are a lot of moving parts here and even more “what if” scenarios. Given that, it’s pretty unlikely that Stephen Strasburg will be needing to look for a new zip code in the relatively near future. Still, if everything lines up and Washington is able to sign Scherzer and is unable to find a deal for Zimmermann, Strasburg could be the odd man out between the prospective trio.

It sounds a little too pipe dream to actually take place, though fans of opposing teams throughout Major League Baseball are salivating at the thought of Strasburg being placed on the trade block.
