Rudy Gay Says Kings Will Sign Josh Smith On Snapchat

One day, athletes will finally figure out that social media isn’t always their friend. But today, they still like to put their foot in their mouth.

Case in point, Rudy Gay of the Sacramento Kings who has played the role of recruiter for the California based basketball franchise this offseason.

Gay helped the Kings sign Rajon Rondo, formerly of the Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks and is doing his part to bring Josh Smith on board as well. In fact, a deal could be close – assuming you believe Rudy Gay’s snapchat.

That’s because Rudy Gay posted a picture of J-Smoove with the caption ‘he a King next’.

Sacramento has had a pretty active offseason as they also recently signed Kostus Koufos, but it’s not known how they’ll financially afford Josh Smith assuming the suggestion from Rudy Gay is true.

As we speak, the Kings probably don’t have enough cap space to sign him outright though they could make a few additional moves to put themselves in position to do so. Either way, it seems as if there is a strong chance Josh Smith will be joining DeMarcus Cousins on the Sacramento Kings front line.
