Cavs Trade Rumors: Cavaliers Seeking Point Guard

Could another new face be joining LeBron James in Cleveland? Perhaps, especially if the Cavs get their way and acquire a veteran point guard. That’s the word from Yahoo Sports’ Marc J. Spears who says Cleveland’s front office is currently looking for backcourt help.

Knowing they are a Kyrie Irving injury from more trouble, the Cavs are working to acquire a veteran point guard.

It’s a position the Cavs could certainly benefit from, especially now that Dion Waiters is a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder (though he didn’t provide much in the way of ball handling anyway).

There has been talk of the Cleveland Cavaliers showing interest in Nate Robinson, though they’d be just one in a long line of suitors and it’s questionable if Robinson’s game fits with what the Cavs are trying to do.

It’s not known if Cleveland is seeking a more traditional point guard who will assist LeBron James and Kyrie Irving in ball handling, especially when one of the two is off the court or if they’re wanting somebody to score off the bench.

Either way it appears the Cavs will make efforts to bring in a point guard before the NBA’s upcoming February trade deadline.
