Bryce Harper Trolls Zack Greinke: Dodgers Star ‘Not Tough’

Bryce Harper

As we speak, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Zack Greinke sits with a record of 9-2 after defeating the Washington Nationals on Sunday afternoon.

Even more impressive? The man behind Clayton Kershaw in the Dodgers pitching rotation has an ERA of 1.30 – a historic number given we’re past the MLB All-Star game.

But Washington Nationals slugger and MLB superstar Bryce Harper isn’t impressed. No literally, he’s not, as he noted after the Nats loss, trolling Zack Greinke in the process.

“I think [Greinke] was okay. When you’re getting five to six inches off of the plate, you better win the game,” Harper said. “For me, I don’t think he was very tough. He’s a great pitcher, he does what he does, but when you’re getting six inches off the plate it’s pretty tough to face him.”

So not only did Bryce Harper throw shade on Zack Greinke for suggesting he wasn’t very tough, but then he gives another slight by stating the reason he was able to pitch so well was because the umpire was giving him an excessive zone.

For what it’s worth, Bryce Harper would later go on to say he didn’t want to give Zack Greinke ‘too much’ credit (I’m not sure he was giving him much in the first place) because he’ll have to face him again.

Never change, Bryce.
