Watch: Woman Hit In Head By Foul Ball During Cubs – Pirates Game

Baseball

Generally speaking, if you’re sitting behind home plate at a baseball game, you don’t usually have to worry about getting hit by a foul ball.

Every stadium either has protective netting or some form of Plexiglas behind the dish to prevent any type of injury, though sadly on Monday night, it didn’t work.

As the Pittsburgh Pirates hosted the Chicago Cubs, a woman who was seemingly returning to her seat was attempting to crawl past other spectators in the relatively tight seats and turned her head away from the action on the field.

Again, you wouldn’t think that would be a big deal considering the protective netting. However, Starlin Castro ended up taking a mighty cut as the woman was attempting to get back to her seat and ended up fouling the ball straight back.

The force from the ball pushed the net into the woman who was hit in the head by the foul ball, sending her crashing to the ground.

It was a very scary scene and one that ended up forcing the game to be delayed for 20 minutes as emergency personnel attended to the injured woman.

The chances of that happening were so slim. Hopefully the woman is okay as there’s been no update on her condition as of Tuesday morning.

I've written on a lot of your favorite websites while I live in my mother's basement. If you only knew what a hard time I'm having holding these alligators down. Woo. | Twitter: @GuyHut | FB: @GuyHutSports
