Billboard’s ’10 Greatest Rappers Of All-Time’ List Is CRAP

Recently, Billboard Magazine decided it would be a good idea to name their ’10 greatest rappers of all-time’.

There’s nothing wrong with the suggestion, of course, though, the list was relatively awful.

Just to get things started off though, let’s provide you with the Billboard ‘10 greatest rappers of all-time‘ list just so you can see what we’re working with here.

10. Lil Wayne

9. Kendrick Lamar

8. Ghostface Killah

7. Lauryn Hill

6. Andre 3000

5. Nas

4. Rakim

3. Emineim

2. Jay Z

1. Notorious BIG

As for Billboard, they say they decided upon the said list based solely on mic skills and rappers who “express their desire to outdo competition.”

That alone is pretty bad, but I regress.

First off, while I respect Lil Wayne’s grind – there’s no way he should be on a top ten list of the greatest rappers of all-time. Kendrick Lamar? Perhaps he’s on his way, but currently? No. Ghost? Was this Billboard’s attempt to include Wu-Tang in general? Lauryn Hill? Maybe if she rapped a bit more in her career, but she can’t be on an all-time list. And Andre 3000? Did we just decide that Outkast wasn’t a group any longer?

Most notably, where is 2pac?!

Somebody is trying to tell me that Ghostface Killah was a more talented MC than Tupac?

What? No Fetty Wap or Rae Surrmond?
