Carmelo Anthony Says He Can Lure Free Agents To Knicks

Carmelo Anthony

Although Carmelo Anthony may end his season early due to a bum knee and despite the fact the New York Knicks sit at a woeful 5-35, the former Syracuse star believes he’ll be able to recruit high profile free agents to the Big Apple.

Barring a trade oddity, the Knicks will have a significant amount of cap space once the current season concludes and they’re reportedly preparing to make big offers to potential free agents like Marc Gasol, Rajon Rondo and more. Hell, they could even find themselves in the mix for names like Kevin Love or LeBron James if they’re to opt-out of their respective contracts.

Of course, would any of the previously mentioned players even entertain playing for the Knicks? According to Carmelo Anthony, yes, as he believes he’s a ‘good salesman’.

Such is yet to be determined, though Anthony has previously talked about forming his own ‘big three’ though hasn’t been able to do so. It’s unlikely he’ll be able to do so with the Knicks either given his hefty salary, though they will be able to afford some nice talent. Whether or not any of that talent wants to play with the New York Knicks, however, is a completely different argument.

It certainly sounds as if Anthony will give it his best effort though.
