Kobe Bryant May Retire After Los Angeles Lakers Season

Previously Kobe Bryant has suggested he wanted to go out on top, something he wouldn’t be doing if he decided to retire at season end given the Los Angeles Lakers current woes. But apparently the Black Mamba has thought about hanging up the sneakers once the season comes to an end.

While Kobe Bryant admits doing so would likely be a long shot, he does say “anything is possible” and won’t put the rumors of his impending retirement to bed.

“I’d be lying if I said that it hasn’t crossed my mind,” he said. “Right now I doubt it … but anything’s possible. … My body is hurting like crazy, around the clock, and if I don’t want to do this anymore, I won’t do it.”

It’s one thing to fight through pain on a winning team with title aspirations, but it’s completely different when playing on a team which may not win 25-games in a season. There has already been talk about shutting Kobe Bryant down for the season, so perhaps doing so will inject a bit more life into the Los Angeles Lakers star and rejuvenate him for at least one more year.

Bryant is signed through the 2015-16 season.

I've written on a lot of your favorite websites while I live in my mother's basement. If you only knew what a hard time I'm having holding these alligators down. Woo. | Twitter: @GuyHut | FB: @GuyHutSports
