Lakers Rumors: Nick Young Recruits Kevin Love, Marc Gasol, More

Nick Young

Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young recently suggested he wanted to help recruit big name free agents to Southern California last season, but was scared to do so because he knew they would take his roster spot.

Now signed through the 2017/18 season, Young doesn’t have the same worry and recently has been attempting to recruit potential free agents to be like Marc Gasol of the Memphis Grizzlies and Goran Dragic of the Phoenix Suns.

“I told Goran Dragic on the court, You might be my teammate next year.” Young told the L.A. Daily News. “I’ll talk to Marc (Gasol.) Me and him are cool. Kevin Love, I’ll talk to him.”

Somewhere Kobe Bryant is clapping his hands knowing he’s not the only player on the Los Angeles Lakers who will attempt to recruit free agents.

Of course, I’m not sure Young has much pull – especially in comparison to Bryant, but the more recruiting the better if you’re a fan of the Lakers.

Los Angeles has also been linked to players like Greg Monroe and Jimmy Butler so they certainly have their eyes on a vast amount of talent, a good thing considering the hefty amount of cap space they’re likely to have this offseason.
